After 10 years of practice in Sandstone, MN and 5 months in New Zealand, Shawn Bode, MD and his staff have been proud and privileged to serve the community of Cromwell and surrounding area since 2008.  We enjoy a family atmosphere in this clinic and hope you feel it as well. 

We are an independent clinic, part of the Northstar/ Integrity Physician Network (a group of independent MN clinics working together for quality healthcare).  We are fully credentialed by insurances such as Medica, Preferred One, Health Partners, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, UCare, Unicare, Humana FFS and PPO, Select Care, United Healthcare, Medicare, Three Rivers, Minnesota Medicaid, America's PPO, and others.

 Vaccine Update:    Below are a few of the highlights of vaccines recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics and Family Practice. 

Pneumonia:  It is recommended that anyone who smokes or anyone who has diabetes, asthma, emphysema, heart disease, liver or kidney disease, or is over the age of 65 have the Pneumovax. 

Pertussis:  A new 2011 recommendation is that everyone , including those over 65, be vaccinated against pertussis (whooping cough).  This has routinely been given to children, and recently to those under age 65 in their Tetanus vaccine.

 Varicella:   a booster vaccine of chicken pox (Varicella) for all school aged children. Most children recieved their first dose at age 1, but still need this 2nd shot.

Meningitis:  The bacterial meningitis vaccine is recommended for those age 11-12 with a booster through college ages. 

HPV:  To prevent cervical cancer, the HPV (Gardisil) vaccine is recommended for all girls/ women ages 11 to mid twenties. It has also been recently recommended for boys of the same ages as well. This is a series of 3 shots.
