Shawn Bode, MD

Board Certified in Family Medicine

Medical School:  University of Minnesota, Duluth and Minneapolis, graduated 1995

Residency:  MidMichigan Family Practice Program, completed 1998

Prior Practice history:       Sandstone, MN 1998-2007

                                                     Waimate, New Zealand 2008.

                                                     Cromwell, MN 2008-present

Dr. Bode is a former "Teaching Physician of the Year" received from the Duluth Family Practice Residency Program in 2003.  He is also a former Mercy Hospital Chief of Staff and Gateway Physician Medical Director.  He is currently on the Northstar Physicians group board of directors and the Integrity Health board of medical directors helping shape physician's quality goals.  He brings 14 years of quality medical care experience and patient advocacy.

Outside interests:  Youth coaching, baseball, the Minnesota Twins, basketball, hiking, canoeing,  playing the trumpet, cooking on the grill, spending time with "my great family-- wife Kelly and four energetic children."

Teri Shelton, Clinic Operations Director

Teri has been a great addition to the clinic since August 2010.   She had previously been with SMDC and Blue Cross.  Teri is the friendly face you likely will see first as you check in.  She handles scheduling, phone calls, billing, and much of the administrative work that keeps the clinic flowing.  Teri is a graduate of Cromwell High School and the College of St.Scholastica.

Julie Forconi, Registered Nurse

Julie came on board permanently in 2011.  She  has a tremendous background in Emergency Medicine and still fills in some shifts at Community Memorial ER in Cloquet.  Julie is a great source of knowledge for many of your medical questions, is the resident lab draw person, and is usually the friendly person who will room you after checking in.  She heads the clinic's educational services.  She also handles many behind the scenes duties such as being the clinic's Quality Coordinator and Safety Coordinator. She has played a large role in this clinic gaining Minnesota quality awards.  Julie also volunteers for the Cromwell Fire and Rescue Squad. She is a graduate of Cromwell High School and the College of St.Scholastica.
